Your Island Will Disappear
Prince Edward Island has what is known as a 'working landscape', and indeed most of the province is densely populated and cultivated. Our forests are also being clear cut at an alarming rate, and much of the shoreline is thick with summer cottage development. This song is a sentinal call, a warning, that we must be good stewards and take care of our Island, or it's natural beauty and charm will disappear like water in the sun.

Lyrics
I am the banks of the Southwest River
I am the Margate hills
I am the hayfield asleep in December
Under the cold winter chill

I am the marram grass
And I am the shore
And if you decide not to care any more
Your Island will disappear
Your Island will disappear
Your Island will disappear
Like water in the sun

I am the furrows turned red in the autumn
I am the seagull's delight
I am the cow path that leads to the stable
I am the owl in the night

I am the spruce tree
And I am the crow
And you can't learn what I already know
Your Island will disappear
Your island will disappear
Your island will disappear
Like water in the sun

Bridge:

I am your teacher
And I am your mother
I am your future
A place like no other

Repeat First Verse
End
