The Devil Came In For Breakfast
I have one piece of earthly advice! If the Devil ever comes to your door, don't let him, run for the hills, and whatever you do don't try to outsmart him or be hospitable. Inviting him in for breakfast is sure to have tragic results.

Lyrics
One morning I heard a loud knock at my door
I was barely awake as my feet hit the floor
But that quickly changed when I saw who it was
The angel of darkness and sorrow

His eyes were like two cauldrons of fire
He shouldered a cape and wore blackened attire
He looked so bedraggled, worn out and thin
I opened the door and invited him in
It seemed like the right thing to do

Hounds Refrain
(too frightening for words)

What can I get you invincible one?
How can I tickle that devilish tongue?
I'm famished myself, can I fix you a bite?
It must be hard work chasing souls in the night
There's seldom a break for the wicked

I'm not very hungry but if you insist
I could use the time to check over my list
The moon is still up and my hounds need a rest
And you can be part of my cosmic quest
And the Devil came in for breakfast

Repeat Hounds Refrain

If it's burned to a crisp the better the fare
We eat lots of greasy fried chicken down there
We pretend that it's chicken but really it's not
You can't tell the difference when it's sizzling hot
That's how we like it down there

I got kind of nervous when I heard him say that
All I could think of was animal fat
So I cooked him a plateful of bacon and eggs
But the ravenous Devil had two hollow legs
Oh you can't fill them up down there

I served him some beans and molasses and tea
I hoped that somehow he'd forget about me
For I had no desire to relinquish my birth
And travel with him to the bowels of the earth
It's hot as a furnace down there

Repeat Hounds Refrain

We sat at the table for hours it seemed
He ate every morsel I put in his reach
He belched and he growled, his breath was so bad
It melted the handle onf my frying pan
They have no manner down there

He said don't be alarmed you have nothing to fear
But I might as well take you as long as I'm here
I'll enter your name in my underworld book
And you can become my own personal cook
You're just we need down there

Repeat Hounds Refrain

For seven long years I've been in this place
Stoking the fires and keeping the pace
I lie and I cheat and I do what I want
But I'd rather be back on the surface

Repeat First Verse
Hounds Refrain
End
